Beyond the Page

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Gallery 1988′s “Beyond the Page” show opens in San Francisco Friday, May 1st. The idea was to put our own little spin on the children’s books of our youth. It was a lot of fun working on these, and this could possibly be my favorite theme show yet. The above is “The Days Are Just Packed“, a tribute to Calvin and Hobbes. Below is a brief roundup of about every bear character I could think of. Titled simply, “Bears“.

Last is “Chance of Showers“, inspired by Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

This one is called “Playtime”. It’s for the “Mayday” show at Art Whino in Washington D.C. this Friday, May 1st. The theme is global politics. The opening will be great I’m sure, so please check it out if you have the means.

Gallery 1988 has issued a limited Giclee print run of my “B-Boys Unite” piece from their “Under the Influence” Beastie Boy tribute show, and they look awesome. You can find more info here. If you happen to be in Ottawa then you oughta stop by Canteen Life, a beautiful art shop and gallery. They are currently featuring some assorted prints. Art Whino in D.C. is also exhibiting some as well if you happen to be visiting the capitol. Their exhibits are amazing. Last but not least, the Bird and Bear gallery in Lauderhill, Florida have a run of the “AT-AT the Playground” print.
