Catching up pt. 6 Zebraska

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Zebraska, a great song by the band Black Camaro, and my first venture into the surprisingly tedious world of After Effects animation. I knew it would take a while until I had a grasp on the program tight enough to churn out anything watchable, and it did take a long, long while. Whether or not it’s watchable is up to you. The whole experience reminded my of my 5th grade science project , when I was so convinced that I figured out a way to make an actual hoverboard using sheets of magnets and was excited to get into the recreational-hover industry, but then the magnets would just flip upside down and stick together and my friends would tell me that their uncle already invented the hoverboard and I was a poser for even trying. But the model looked good.

Catching up pt.5, CD Covers

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Here’s an album cover I did for San Diego band, Spell Toronto. The concept was all theirs, I just painted it. They’re a good group of guys and their album seems to be doing quite well. Check them out…

A friend of mine from way back in high school is the frontman for another San Diego group, Genius of Soul. This is a cover I put together for them that’s really just an edited version of “Locust Population“.  Last I heard they were nominated for “Best Album” by the San Diego Music Awards.

Catching up pt.4, Citylife

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Anyone who lives in Las Vegas knows Citylife. It is the weekly free mag that has all of what’s going on around town, art and music reviews, and an extensive catalog of local escorts and masseuses on the last three pages. I’ve been doing illustrations for them for a while now, and recently had the opportunity to do a few of the covers…

Catching up pt.3, Daytrotter

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Recently I’ve been doing some illustrations for the online music showcase Daytrotter. They run a recording studio in Chicago with all analog equipment, and somehow coerce musicians passing through to come in and do a little recording. They have an amazing catalog and all tracks are available on their site, free of charge. Each feature is coupled with an illustration of the artist, and the art is really great as well. It’s been a lot of fun working with them and I highly recomend you take a look around. Here are some of the pieces I’ve done so far, though not all of them have been published yet.

Catching up pt.2, Narnell

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Sometime about a year ago, a couple of friends and I got a wild hair up our ass and decided to start a shirt company. It was a lot of fun, but since I’ve moved from Las Vegas, it’s been hard keeping the dream going. Here is what we managed to put together during our more productive time together. We still have some left in case anyone out there wants to buy a fannypack shirt.

Catching up pt.1, Keep A Breast

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Back in October I painted a cast for the Keep-A-Breast organization, which is a charity that has artists paint plaster casts of model’s bosoms. The casts are eventually auctioned off and the proceeds go to aid the effort in increasing breast cancer awareness. I had the pleasure of working on the bod of miss Candy Caremelo, who holds the world record for the “biggest  showgirl”. Here she is with the cast…

You can find a little more info about the whole thing here.

So the new site is up. I think it’s certainly better than the last, however I think I’ll be over it in about a week. So this section is just to keep my loyal fan up to date on all of the amazing things that I’ve been up to. Thanks mom, you’re the best…
